Temporary Employee Perks

 

On-Campus Access

Temporary employees are eligible to join the gym for $25/month. You will be asked to provide a letter of employment on official NC State letterhead with employment dates from your department. For more information, visit the Wellness and Recreation’s website.

Temporary employees are eligible to utilize some of the NCSU Libraries resources. You can review a list of privileges available to temporary employees through the NC State Libraries.

All temporary employees should receive an ID card during their onboarding appointment. If you would like to use your card to make purchases on campus, you can set up the All Campus feature and load money on to the card. If you still have money on the card at the end of your assignment, you can request a refund and a check will be issued (the balance must be greater than $15). For more information, click here.

Temporary employees are eligible to get into any non-revenue generating sporting event for free. To see a list of sports and schedules visit www.gopack.com.

Temporary employees are eligible to park on campus with daily or monthly rates.


Health Options

The Affordable Care Act (ACA) requires that anyone working 30 or more hours per week averaged over a 3 month time period must be offered employer-provided health insurance. The Benefits Office will monitor eligibility and reach out with additional information.

The Student Health Pharmacy is open to temporary employees. Click here for details on obtaining, refilling, and/or transferring prescriptions.

Campus Smiles offers dental services to NC State students, faculty, staff, campus partners and temporary employees at two state-of-the-art offices on campus. An NC State email address and ID card are required to make an appointment. Campus Smiles also offers savings plans for employees who do not have dental insurance. Banking
