Parking 101
A broad overview of what you need to know about parking on and around campus as an employee.
As an auxiliary service, NC State Transportation is solely financially responsible for the construction, maintenance, and management of all on-campus parking facilities. Auxiliary units do not receive any financial support from the University or the State of North Carolina.
Therefore, employees pay for the option to park on campus. Parking permit fees are calculated based on our annual operating budget, including but not limited to maintenance (repair and renovation), encumbering funds for the construction of future parking facilities, and all personnel required to manage the parking needs and services for campus.
The Onboarding Center will assist with requesting the appropriate parking option during your Onboarding appointment on your first day.
Parking Permit Types and Costs
Employee ParkingParking permits are enforced Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., except on Official University Holidays.
Parking is enforced on North Campus, Central Campus, Centennial Campus and Centennial Biomedical Campus (also known as The Vet School). The below parking map (click the image to expand) can be used to help determine the best parking option based on the primary assigned work location.
Note: The most common employee permit is “C” and allows for parking in the designated spaces for C,DD,F,GV,RH,RV,V, and W. Employee “B” permits have a waitlist and you must work on North Campus to qualify.
